Lighthouse is a caravan temporarily placed just off the junctions of East London's Brick Lane, converted into an intimate cinema space. Lighthouse will be screening the film and video work of Irish and international artists that use the medium of moving image to initiate a meditation on the acts of placement and presence. From the documentary video essays of Michael Fortune and Stephen Gunning, the constructed illusory landscapes of John O'Connell, to the arrested animation of Jochen Kuhn, Lighthouse places together a unique set of artists that employ a pondering, performative eminence. The caravan setting will feature the first UK screenings of several works, new work from Lizzie Hughes, Eloise Calandre, and Tom Flanagan, as well as a screening of Jonas Mekas' film made for June 23rd, 2007, from his ongoing year-long 365 Films project.
